It's funny--this song and its cover artwork were born out of desperation. My computer was entering hour #9 of a seemingly interminable update/fix, and I had literally nothing I could think of to do to fill the time. I was practically freaking out!
Then, hark--like a bolt from the blue, I remembered the Wizrocklopedia's Bertie Botts Every Flavor Jams theme for September! (
www.wrocklopedia.com/2021/09/01/bertie-botts-every-flavour-jam-september-2021) Zoë from Dots and Lines had said that the theme was to be "transportation" & I had commented on a post in the Wizard Rock Revival about how I was wondering if the Hogwarts Express was the only train in the wizarding world. I supposed not, and thought it'd be fun to write a song about it, but nothing ended up coming of it.
At least, not until this particular midnight--when suddenly seized by inspiration hitherto unexpected, I furiously put pen to paper & banged out this incredibly goofy lil' doowop ditty!
And no sooner had I written 4 verses than I ran over at tip top speed to the recording equipment and tracked this demo!
Then, since my computer was still nowhere near being finished updating, I pulled out the markers and made this rather rudimentary but still acceptable piece of cover artwork. The entire process probably took about an hour.
And then? Then I went to BED.
Sure, it's rough. Sure, the beat's a little bit off. Sure, it's very short. Sure, it probably contains elements from a few other doowop songs that have filtered through my brain. But honestly, who gives a grindylow's groin?
Anyway.
